(July 12, 1957 - May 18, 2008)

James E. "Pero" Hollis, 50, passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2008. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2008, at Abilene Funeral Home Chapel of Hope, with Reverend Chuck Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in the Tye Cemetery, directed by Abilene Funeral Home. Mr. Hollis was born July 12, 1957, in Decatur, TX, to James C. and Mildred Hollis. "Pero" was a tool pusher for C. C. Forbes Company for many years and was a Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Hollis of Merkel, two daughters, Melissa Hollis and Crystal Hollis both of Abilene; three sons, Jason Hollis (Cass) of Brownwood, TX and Cliff Roberts (Amanda) and Jeff Roberts (Melynda) all of Abilene, TX; his father, James Hollis (Linda) of Merkel; his mother, Mildred Greenway of Chatsworth, Georgia; two brothers, Gary Greenway of Chatsworth, Georgia and Charles Hollis (Paula) of Topeka, Kansas; two sisters, Angie Cantrell (Don) of Clyde, TX and Norma Jo Neill of Chatsworth, Georgia; two step-sisters and one step-brother; an uncle, Walter Hollis (Sandy) of Chico, TX; an aunt, Daisy Marsh of Daingerfield, TX; ten grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. "Pero" was preceded in death by a sister, Lynna Roebling; and grandparents, W. R. C. and Thelma Hollis and Everett and Mattie Hicks. A visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Abilene Funeral Home, 3349 N. 12th Street.
