Dale Robert Borghardt, age 45, of rural Lamar, Mo., passed away at 4:25 p.m. Saturday, July 30, 2005, at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin following a short illness.
Dale was born Dec. 25, 1959, in Lamar, to Robert D. and Leta (Crockett) Borghardt. He graduated from Liberal High School in 1978, and served his country in the U.S. Army. A life-long Barton County resident, Dale had worked in construction for several years and was employed at Thorco Industries for the past 18 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and a lifetime member of the North American Hunting Association and the North American Fishing Association. He was of the Baptist faith.
On April 7, 1984, in Chanute, Kan., he married Allison D. Hanson who survives, of the home.
Also surviving of the home are his son, Christopher Borghardt; his daughter, Elizabeth Borghardt and a baby to be born in September; his father, Bob Borghardt, Lamar; his mother-in-law, Betty Hanson, Ottawa, Kan.; a brother, Scott Borghardt, Lamar; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Deanna and Steve Laepple, Lamar, Sharon and Jay Braker, Liberal, and Rita and Dick Clark, Goodman; and numerous other sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Leta Borghardt; and his father-in-law, Jack Hanson.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, at Daniel Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
