[update: Jul 2012: I have received info from a fellow Find-a-Graver (thanks Robbie) that Russell married FIRST one Sarah J JAMES on 12 Apr 1866, in Perry Co, TN (confirmed from marr record). Not sure what became of Sarah, tho]

Russell married Mattie Delf in 1895 (a German/Danish immigrant who arrived in the US around 1888), probably in Colorado, or on their way there. They had two children that I can find so far: William Eugene Richards (b: Larimer, CO, 1896) and Eva Maude Richardson (b: Larimer, CO, 1899)... [Eva will marry George William GASTON, son of George and Isabelle (Bush) GASTON of Thurston, WA, in 1929...]

Russell and Mattie moved in the 1910's to Idaho, then were in Roseburg, Oregon by 1930.

Russell passed shortly after the 1930 census was taken, and Mattie is found there in the 1940 census, which her son William Eugene RICHARDSON.
