MONTCALM — Agnes "Butchie" Spicer Eldridge, 64, of Tabernacle Hill, Montcalm, died Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at BRMC after a short illness.
Born April 6, 1944 in McComas, she was the daughter of the late Alvie and Ora Gillenwater Spicer.
She had been a resident of Tabernacle Hill for 7 years and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Glorious Church of Jesus in Pocahontas, Va.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Knuckles; one sister, Ruth Hicks; one infant sister, Lorraine Spicer; two infant brothers, Jimmy Spicer and Delbert Spicer.
Survivors include one son, James Curtis Eldridge of Montcalm; grandsons, Shane and Jesse Knuckles of Montcalm, Dakota Eldridge of Tennessee; granddaughter, Destiny Eldridge of Tennessee; brothers, Edward Spicer and wife Carolyn of Bluewell, Thomas Spicer and wife Faye of Bluewell, Claude Spicer and wife Myrtle Spicer of Hayesville, Kan.; sisters, Joann Schmidt and companion Fabian Bell of Burnside, Ore., Evelyn Berry and husband Roger of Jefferson, Mass., Brenda Jones and husband Ted of Halifax, Va., Linda Arnold and companion Drew Collins of Jefferson City, Tenn.
Graveside services will be conducted at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, Va. with the Rev. David Warf officiating.
Burial will follow with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell is serving the Eldridge family.
