MAUDE ADAMS, 79, SUCCUMBS
Lifelong Resident of the County Dies Friday Night at Hospital.
Mrs. Maude Adams, 79, life-long resident of Bartholomew county, died at 6:10 o'clock Friday night at the county hospital.
Mrs. Adams was the widow of Marion F. Adams. She made her home at 639½ Fifth street. Born Feb. 15, 1878, in Rockcreek township, she was the daughter of Frank and Sarah Ann Carson Griffin. She was married to Mr. Adams on her 20th birthday, Feb. 15, 1898, and he died in 1931. A son, Clarence, died in 1916.
She was a member of First Christian church.
Funeral rites will be held at 10:30 o'clock Monday morning at Flanigan and Reed funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Garnet Jewell. Burial will be made at Springer cemetery. Casket will be open at the funeral home after 10 o'clock Sunday morning.
Survivors are two sons, Verle Adams of Dupont and Lester Adams of Midway City, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Homer Burns of Route 3; a brother, Murral Griffin of Seattle; two granddaughters, Mrs. Robert West and Miss Susan Adams; two great-grandchildren, Beverle and Pat West.
