Mrs. P. M. Martin Dies in Hospital

Funeral services for Mrs. P. M. Martin, 79, Entiat Valley pioneer, were to be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon from the Entiat Valley Christian church. The Rev. Rex Dallas of Wenatchee was to officiate, with burial in the Entiat cemetery.

Mrs. Martin died early Sunday morning after a day's illness. She was born in 1860 in Forrest City, Ia., taught school there and came to Waterville in 1894. She taught in the Waterville, Orondo and Entiat schools and married P. M. Martin in 1898 in Spokane. That fall they came back to the Entiat valley, where her parents were early settlers.

Surviving are her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Irma Shamley of Entiat, four grandchildren and a cousin, Jess Bonar of Entiat. Jones and Jones of Wenatchee are in charge.
