Essie Wilcox Services Held
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Estelle "Essie" Wilcox were held at 2 P.M. Wednesday, April 29, in the First United Methodist Church in Weleetka. Rev. Troy Pults, former pastor of the local church from Davis officiated.
Daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bill Pirtle, Mrs. Wilcox was born February 10,1895, in Hillsboro, Tenn., and died Monday morning, April 27, in the Midwest City Memorial Hospital at the age of 75.
A 1914 graduate of Weleetka High School, Mrs. Wilcox and her husband, Aldrich J. "Al" Wilcox, were married on June 30,1916 in Weleetka. The couple lived in Quinton several years before moving to Weleetka 40 years ago. Mrs. Wilcox was an active member of the First United Methodist Church and the Reddy - Kilowatt Club.
Survivors include: her husband, Al, 607 East Sixth, Weleetka; four sons, Jimps Wilcox of Fairfax, Calif, Joe Jeff Wilcox of Jupiter, Fla, Bob Wilcox of Henryetta; two daughters, Mrs. Floyd Anglin Jr. of Lee's Summit, Mo., and Mrs. John Anglin of Midwest City; one brother, Bryan Pirtle of Lubbock, Tex., three sisters, Mrs. W. W. Griffin of Stockton, Calif,,Mrs. John Laucci of San Francisco, Calif., and Mrs. Charles Bessey of Orinda, Calif, 20 grandchildren and 7 great - grandchildren.
Active pallbearers were: Billy May, John Morgan, T. V. Thomas, Roger Allen, David Puckett and Lewis Kennedy.
Honorary pallbearers were Warren Reddick, M. B. Hamby, Tom Reddick, John M. Rasberry, Jess Cleaver and Orville Riley.
Interment was in the Weleetka Hillcrest Cemetery under the direction of Spillar Funeral Home.
