Frank Bremer was the oldest son of August and Paulina Lembke (Lamka) Bremer. At the age of 6 months he and his parents boarded the SS Herder in Hamburg, Germany on September 28, 1881 and set sail for America. They arrived in Castle Garden, New York on October 13, 1881.

On February 25, 1904 in Bremer County, Iowa Frank and Alvina Balhmann, daughter of Johann F. and Wilhelmina (Miller) Bahlmann were united in marriage. They had 10 children. 5 sons, Henry died in infancy, Arnold, Paul, Herman died in infancy, and Lester; 5 daughters, one died in infancy, Helena Anna (Bergmann), Adala I (Testorff) (Woods), Olinda Elizabeth (Hagedorn), and Hilda (Holm).

After the death of his father Frank farmed his parents' farm for many years in section 5, Frederika Township. In 1937 they moved to Tripoli and lived with Alvina's mother. Frank served as Town Marshal in Tripoli and was also County Weed Commissioner.

Frank was the oldest of 7 children. Three brothers, Frederick Wilhelm Heinrich, Henry, August F.; Three sisters, one died in infancy, Ida Wilma (Segebarth) and Amelia Augusta (Segebarth).

Granchildren include: Everette P., Clarence Alvin, Donald, Darlene, and Melvin Bergmann children of Helena and Alvin Bergmann; James Bremer son of Arnold and Gladys Bremer; Paul V. Bremer son of Paul and Elvira Bremer; Stanley, Darol, David, and Dennis Hagedorn sons of Olinda and Louie Hagedorn; Robert, Richard, Nancy, and Russell children of Hilda and Vernie Holm; Sally and Susan Kay daughters of Lester Bremer.
