WILLIAM CALVIN STEWART was born on Dec. 30, 1850 in Franklin township, Montgomery County, Indiana. He was the son of John Allen Stewart and Francis "Fannie" Lewis. He married Nellie M. Hutchinson, daughter of William C. Hutchinson and Miranda Hamilton, on April 7, 1889 Montgomery County, Indiana. They had two children, both born in Montgomery County: Oral C. Stewart (b. March 20, 1890) and Helen Belle Stewart (b. May 20, 1891).
Nellie died on October 16, 1910 in Montgomery County. Eight years later, on Oct. 12, 1918, William married Nellie's younger sister, Martha "Mattie" H. Hutchinson in Indianapolis.
William died on July 22, 1926 in Crawfordsville, Montgomery County, Indiana. Martha died at the I. O. O. F. Home in Greensburg, Indiana, on October 21, 1946.
