Lizzie is the daughter of Charles Slaughter & Eve Ann (Foltz) Huffman. She married John David Hershberger on April 22, 1908 in Page County, Virginia.

HERSHBERGER, LIZZIE HUFFMAN - wife of John D. Hershberger of Fauquier Co. died at the Memorial Hospital in Washington, DC. on Friday evening (13 March 1914). She was 29 yrs. 11 mos. 18 days. Death was due to a complication of diseases. She leaves 3 children, Roland, 5 yrs., Daniel, age 4 yrs. & a little daughter, 19 mos. Besides her husband & children, she is survived by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. C. S. Huffman of the Hawksbill & the following brothers & sisters: Mrs. John W. Strickler, of Kimball; Mrs. Harper Strickler of near Luray, Mrs. Newt Varner of the Hawksbill, Mrs. Ed Ryman of Woodstock, Miss Fay Huffman at home & James Huffman of Rileyville & Vernon Huffman who lives with his parents. Interment in the family cemetery
