Dorothy Alice Austin Age 79 of Townsend, DE, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2002 at home.
Mrs. Austin retired from the State of Delaware after 20 years at the Delaware Home & Hospital in Smyrna. After retirement, she continued to work in home healthcare.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Clarence Leon Austin; 4 sons, William H. Austin of Townsend, Gene L. Austin of GA, Allan W. Austin and Richard C. Austin, both of Townsend; and 4 daughters, Carol Lee Hutchison, Suzanne Leathern and Jill Gesulo, all of Middletown and Lynn K. Gagliardi of Newark. Her sister, Florence Halfen of Lake Port, CA; 18 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandson also survive her.
There will be a funeral service 11 am Tuesday, April 2 at the DANIELS & HUTCHISON FUNERAL HOME, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown, where friends may call from 7-9 pm on Monday evening, April 1. Burial will be in the Townsend Cemetery.
The family suggests contributions to First State Hospice House Fund, 5193 W. Woodmill Dr., Wilmington, DE 19808.
