MRS. RODGERS, 74, DIES
Mrs. Murriel Edna Rodgers, 74, of 115 Washington Ave., died at 6:35 p.m. Monday in the Franklin Hospital. She had been a resident of Venango Manor since December 9, 1969. The daughter of of Theodore and Sarah (Stroupe) French, she was born on July 30, 1895, in Kennerdell. In 1914, she married Archie R. Rodgers who survives. She was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church. Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Mrs. Jack (Lucille) Couch of Bergenfield, N.J., and Mrs. James (Shirley) Carey of Oil City; one son, William F. Rodgers of Oil City; two brothers, Arnold and William French of Oil City; three sisters, Mrs. Leslie (Leona) Campbell of Reno, Mrs. Ethel Latchaw of Franklin, and Mrs. Thomas (Florence) Davis of Winfield; 9 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were one son, Rev. Gerald A. Rodgers who died in 1944 and three sisters [and brother], Noel French, Sadie Sweetapple, and Christine Sweetapple. Friends may call at the Hutchinson and Morton Funeral Home after 7 p.m. today. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home with Rev. W.A. Robbie, retired Wesleyan Methodist minister, officiating. Interment will be in the Sunset Hill Memorial Cemetery.
