He was born on January 10, 1916 in Alpha, Minnesota to Torstein and Eva (Harriman) Aalid. He moved as a baby to LeSueur with his parents, graduated from LeSueur High School and attended Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter. He worked in the CCC camps in Northern Minnesota. Arnulf married Beulah Fuller on December 27, 1939 in Faribault, Minnesota. She preceded him in death in 1963. He married Mildred Bendzick on August 30, 1975. She preceded him in death in 2001. Arnulf lived and worked in various communities including Faribault, Tracy, Spring Lake Park and mostly LeSueur where he worked at Reaume Pontiac as a mechanic and bookkeeper. He was a very active member of the United Methodist Church in LeSueur. He is survived by his children, David Aalid of New Mexico, Richard Aalid of Texas, Donald Aalid of St. Paul, Minnesota, Dennis (Tuyon) Aalid of Texas, Janet (Paul) Fuss of Hamel, Minnesota, Joanne Thompson of Oregon, Coral (Richard) Taylor of Ramsey, Minnesota, Beth (Carl) DeSpiegelaere of Bloomington, Minnesota, Joe (Mary) Bendzick of Texas, Robert (Deborah) Bendzick of Rochester, Minnesota, Marva Rae (Phil) Jorgensen of St. Cloud, Minnesota and Karen (Dale) Kleinschmidt of St. Cloud, Minnesota. There are 20 Grandchildren and 29 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wives and a brother, Sigurd Aalid of Mankato, Minnesota. Memorial services will be held on Monday, June 9, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in LeSueur. Interment will be in the Mound Cemetery in LeSueur. Visitation is one hour prior to the services at the church on Monday. Kolden Funeral Home in LeSueur is in charge of arrangements. Memorials are preferred to The American Cancer Society or Alzheimer's research.
