Died. - Gilbert R. Baker, at his residence, one and one-half miles north of town, on Monday night. He leaves a wife and three children. The funeral took place Wednesday at the Centennial School house. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America, and had $3,000 life insurance. The order attended the Funeral.

Obituaries.

Gilbert Russell Baker died Jan. 11th ath 8:50 p.m. after an illness of six days of liver complaint at his home two miles south of town. The deceased was born in Burton county, North Carolina, May 10, 1844, where he resided until the late war when he went to Illinois. On Feb. 10, 1876, he was united it marriage to Miss Patience Shoopman in Cass county, Illinois, where they resided until October 1879, when they moved to this vicinity where they have since resided. By this union three daughters and one son were born to them, of which one daughter died in infancy. The deceased has been a member of the Baptist church at his old home since he was 17 years old. The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. Cross at Centennial on Jan. 13th, to a large audience of friends. He was a member of Jayhawker camp M.W.A. and was buried by them in the Harmony cemetery. He was a good, kind neighbor, husband and father.
