The daughter of Thomas Jefferson Stowe and Nancy Ann Davis, she was born April 29, 1914, in Bokchito. She was a lifelong resident of Bryan County and attended the old Slideup School which is presently known as Reynolds Chapel.
She married Ray Keenon March 25, 1933, in Banty. She was a homemaker, and provider for the elderly. Mrs. Keenon enjoyed gardening, quilting, cooking, canning and spending time with family. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Durant. She accepted Jesus as her Savior when she was 22 years old, and continued loving, serving and living for the Lord since that day 67 years ago. Jessie always said, ‘There is not a better life than the life of a Christian..'
Her salvation has always been her most prized possession, and she always did her best to let her light shine and share her faith with others. Jessie will be missed so very much.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, sisters Lee Blackwell and Lois Manners, and brothers George,Simon, Bill, Sabbath, Earl and J.B. Stowe.
Burial will be in Bokchito Cemetery with Steven Earl, Beau Earl, Joe Roberts, Gene Keenon, Randy Keenon and Dakota Keenon as pallbearers.
Family hour is 7-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
