W.K. Walters, 83, pioneer Panhandle resident, died at his home in Panhandle early yesterday morning, following a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ella, three weeks ago.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon in Panhandle, with the Rev. J.N. Hunt of Borger officiating in the Baptist church.
Interment will be beside Mrs. Walters in the Panhandle cemetery, under direction of the Carver Funeral Home.
Survivors include five sons, Leslie A., and Guy N., both of Borger; Edgar J. of Minneapolis, Maurice of Manhattan, Kans., and Herbert O. of San Francisco; one brother, C.P. Walters of Chanute, Kans.; two daughters, Mrs. I.L. Hickox of Sunray, Mrs. E.E. Staples of Glen Gardner, N.J. Twenty-five grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren also survive.
Pallbearers will be J.D. Graham, John D. Keese, H.R. Courage, C.M. McAndrews, Bob Calloway and Charles Stevens.
