Norman V. HUTCHISON

Norman V. Hutchison Age 75, of Odessa, died Sunday April 2, 2000 in the Christiana Hospital. Born in Townsend, DE son of the late Cecil & Olivia Hutchison. Mr. Hutchison retired from the Delaware National Guard in 1983 after 34 years of service. He was a member of St. Pauls United Methodist Church in Odessa, a former member of the Townsend Town Council, a past Secretary and member of the Townsend Fire Co. and a member of Old Union Church Historical Society. He was also an avid Phillies fan and enjoyed hunting. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Vivian in 1990.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine M. Hutchison; 1 son, Fred Hutchison of Middletown; 1 daughter, Sandy Wallis, also of Middletown; a step son, Larry Fretz and step daughter, Kathy Chas, both of Middletown; 1 brother, Austin "Smokey" Hutchison of Daytona Beach, FL; 2 sisters, Joanne Naylor of Townsend and Ruth Staats of Claymont; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. in St. Pauls United Methodist Church, Main St., Odessa, where friends may call 1 hour before the services. Friends may also call Wednesday evening from 7-9 p.m. at the DANIELS & HUTCHISON FUNERAL HOME, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown. Burial will be in the Townsend Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to St. Pauls United Methodist Church or to the Townsend Fire Co.
