Bobby Raymond Pipes, 72, of Beaumont died, Wednesday, June 4, 2008 in Beaumont, Jefferson county, Texas, after an extended illness.

He was born January 19, 1936 in Redwater, Bowie county, Texas to parents: Melvin and Nelia Mae Clark Pipes. He had been a long time resident of Dayton, graduating from Dayton High School in 1954. He continued his education at Texas A&M where he was in the R.O.T.C. and from there he joined the Army Reserves. He move to the Beaumont area over 39 years ago where he went on to build a successful business in the insurance field until his retirement in 1998. Mr. Pipes enjoyed gardening and fishing.

Services for Mr. Pipes will be 3:00 p.m., Saturday, June 7, 2008 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton, Texas with Brother Bob Webb officiating. Interment will follow at Magnolia Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Saturday prior to the service.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers: James and Curtis Pipes, and his sister: Helen Pipes.

He is survived by his son: Thomas Pipes of California, Darryl Pipes and wife Karla of Beaumont; his daughters: Brenda Pipes of Lumberton and Sharlene Rhonda Pipes of Lumberton; grandchildren: Corbin Ward, Kelsey Fuller, René Pipes, Travis Pipes, and James Raymond Pipes; his brothers: Melton Pipes and wife Marlene of Huffman, Carl Pipes of Huffman, and his sister: Carolyn Collett of Huffman.
