GEORGETOWN -- Inez Keisler Strait, 76, died Sunday, April 19, 1998, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
She was born Dec. 2, 1921, in Lexington, a daughter of the late Archie and Ola Wessinger Keisler.
She was the widow of Jacob Strait Sr.
She grew up in Lexington and was a graduate of Lexington High School. She worked in the S.C. State Hospital for a time before moving to Georgetown in 1956. She retired from employment in the lunchroom at Maryville School after many years.
Mrs. Strait was a member of Georgetown Presbyterian Church. She taught the toddlers Sunday school class for more than 40 years. She was an honorary life member of the Presbyterian Women. She was also the church hostess.
Survivors include two sons, Jacob Strait Jr. of Vicksburg, Miss., and David Strait of Florence; two daughters, Emily Williamson of Martinez, Ga., and Martha Studstill of Columbia; a brother, Holly Keisler of Lexington; a sister, Helen White of Saluda; and 10 grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6:30-8 tonight at Georgetown chapel of Mayer Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Georgetown Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Pennyroyal Memorial Garden.
