After her husbands passing she married on 31 Oct 1850 she married Carson D. Fite (1827–1907) in Calhoun County, Alabama, USA and these three children took on the name of the new father, as shown in the 1850 Census. It is not known if this was official as there are no papers other than this census to show adoption.
