He was born in Minneapolis October 22, 1945.
He was raised in Sleepy Eye where he graduated from St Mary's High School. In 1984 he and the family moved to Pequot Lakes and later to Nisswa. He was a long-time employee of Montgomery Wards and later Tull's Flooring. He served in Vietnam from 1965-1967 where he received five medals for service and achievement.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Donna; his daughters, Shelley Friederich, Bloomington, Jennifer Berdan, Richfield; stepson, Jim Redmond of St. Peter, and stepdaughter, Vicki Ridgley of Ramsey; a brother, Patrick Berdan, Burnsville; and nine grandchildren.
