Clara Emma French, 86, was a teacher and daisy farmer and a member of the Glencoe Church of Christ, where she was involved in many activities. She died Thursday, Dec. 18 1997, in Rosewood Nursing Home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 22, in the Glencoe Church of Christ with Ken Mantle officiating. Interment will follow in the Glencoe Cemetery under the direction of Strode Funeral Home. Ms. French was born Dec. 20, 1910, in Morrill, Neb., to Carl Emery and Mary Elizabeth (Morris) Wilson. She attended school in Morrill, Neb., then moved at age 16 to Glencoe and attended Eureka School. She attended Stillwater High School her senior year and completed a teaching certificate at Oklahoma State University. She married Ralph Burton French on Nov. 11, 1947, in Guthrie. He died Nov. 1, 1964. Mrs. French was also predeceased by her parents; one brother, Carol Wilson; and one sister, Gertrude Hobson. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Benjamin and Marilyn French of Glencoe; one daughter and son-in-law, Deloris and Kirby Evelsizerof of Glencoe; one sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Louis Bass, Stillwater; one sister-in-law, June Wilson; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
