"Mrs Jennie M Blakeslee - On March 30, Mrs Jennie M Blakeslee of Spartansburg passed away. For some time she had been in failing health, but the cause of death was congestion of the bronchial tubes. The deceased was born at Troy, NY, on Nov 12, 1855, and was the daughter of Eli and Harriet Clark. On Jan 4, 1880, she was united in marriage to John H Blakeslee of Spartansburg. To them was born one son, Ray H Blakeslee of this city. Mrs Blakeslee is also survived by one sister, Mrs C Marsh of Corry; two brothers, J A Clark of Erie and George L Clark of Marietta, O; and two half-brothers and one half-sister. The funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at Spartansburg, Rev Anthony Groves being in charge. The interment was made in Rose Hill cemetery."
