Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jason Stone, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Memorial Park Cemetery in Dalhart by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas.
Corda was born Feb. 14, 1904, in Ottawa County, Kan., to Rhodes D and Wealtha Eliza Constable Cleavinger. She moved to Dallam County in 1917, lived 17 miles east of Dalhart and was a 1924 graduate of Dalhart High School. She married William Estel Pleyer on Dec. 15, 1926, in Dalhart. He preceded her in death in 1959.
In 1983, Corda was named Old Timer Queen for Sherman County. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Stratford and enjoyed painting, artwork, reading, baking and traveling. She especially enjoyed spending time with her familly.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers; two sons; a great-grandson, Trey Oakley; and a son-in-law, George G Oakley.
Survivors include a son, Stanley Pleyer and wife Doris of Stratford; four daughters, Dolores Humphrey and husband Carl of Glendale, Ariz., Corrine Hughes and husband Rex of Waco, Gaynelle Oakley of Stratford and Billie Terrell and husband Doyle of Dumas; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to building fund, First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 390, Stratford, TX 79084; or Coldwater Manor, P.O. Box 1189, Stratford, TX 79084.
Viewing will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Boxwell Brothers in Stratford.
