Our village was shocked, Wednesday morning, to learn that Mr. William Swartzbaugh had dropped dead while walking across the floor at his home on South Main Street. Mr. Swartzbaugh was born near Springfield, Ohio on Sept 30, 1839, and at his death he was 60 years old. He had been ailing for a few days, but was considered better. He said the morning of his death that he was feeling quite well and had no pain. The funeral was held at the Baptist Church, Saturday, conducted by Revs. Keider and Frantz. Interment at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. ("Pleasant Hill Items," Miami Union, 3 May 1900)
