Fred Mobley Parsons, 82, of Chillicothe, died 3:52 a.m. Friday, June 6, 2008, in Adena Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Fred was born March 17, 1926, in Sandy Hook, KY, to the late Thomas and Bessie Mobley Parsons. On July 12, 1945, he married the former Harriett Carroll, who survives, of Chillicothe.

Also surviving are daughters, Jewell (Joe) Lallier, Judy (James) Speakman and Janet Wacaster, all of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Chad (Michelle), Kimberly, Amy (Josh), Gary, Cindy (Dusty), John, Bob (Miranda) and Herbie; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ernest (Lou) Parsons; a sister, Mary Alice White, both of KY; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Edgar, Burl and Thearl; and sisters, Marie, Mabel and Jewell.

Fred served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War. He was owner and operator of Parson's Excavation and was a member of the Ohio Operating Engineers Local 18, of Columbus.

Services were entrusted to Ware Funeral Home of Chillicothe, Ohio with military graveside services by Ross County Veterans Honor Guard.
