She was born Dolores Mary Edith Nelson on April 7, 1914, to Edward P. and Edith (Runyon) Nelson in Yakima. Her family traveled by covered wagon to the Okanogan area when she was 4 years old. She grew up in Okanogan and graduated from Okanogan High School in 1932. She was Princess Okanogan for the Washington State Apple Blossom Festival in her senior year.
She married Jack Abrams on Nov. 8, 1936, in Okanogan. She worked at the Okanogan Creamery, and her husband worked at the Wagner Lumber Co. They moved to Twisp in 1946 when the Wagner Lumber Co. was relocated after a fire destroyed the plant.
They purchased a variety store in 1950, known as Dolores and Jacks. They sold the store in 1963 and bought the local Chevrolet garage, which they operated as Abrams Chevrolet until their retirement in 1978.
Mrs. Abrams was a charter member of the Virginia Griffith Orthopedic Auxiliary and the Twisp Chamber of Commerce. She and her husband traveled to the Baja in winters and to Alaska in the summers to camp and fish.
Survivors include a son, John, North Pole, Alaska; one daughter, Cam Pierce, Twisp; one sister, Lois Tilton, Ephrata; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and one brother.
Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
