Cora Lee Kirk Allen

Cora Lee Kirk Allen, 86 of Mountain City, Georgia, formerly of Campton, passed away at Mountain Lakes Medical Center in Clayton, Georgia on Sunday, May 25, 2008.

She was born in Walton County and was the daughter of the late Willie Paul Kirk and Viola Childers Kirk.

She is survived by her husband: John Thomas Allen of Mountain City; daughter: Brenda Cathey and husband Frank of Mountain City. She also is survived by her grandchildren: Jennifer Arbitter and her husband Stephen of Clayton, and Stephanie Shuman and husband Leiston of Savannah, and great grandchildren: Mark, Allen and Wyatt Arbitter and Sarah Kate Shuman.

Surviving siblings include: Macy Smith and her husband Franklin, Jessie Mae Davis and her husband Ruben, and Mrs. Jean Bates of Walton County.

Mrs. Allen was a member of Mountain City United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker. She was a devoted wife of 67 years, a loving mother and a steadfast sister.

Funeral Services were held in the Beck Funeral Home Chapel at 12 noon on May 28 with the Rev. Church Stutsman officiating. Burial followed in the Wesley Memorial Cemetery in Rabun Gap, Georgia.

Memorial donations in Cora's memory may be made to the Mountain City United Methodist Church Building Fund.
