Services for Joanna Ella Barksdale Coleman, of Union Church, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Copiah County with burial in the church cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Thursday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Coleman, 94, died Oct. 10, 2007, at her residence. She was born on Aug. 30, 1913, to Henry Decater Barksdale and Bertha Mae McKinney Barksdale.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of Springhill Pentecostal Church in Wesson.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Sherrod T. Coleman; her sons, Sherrod Henry Coleman, Everette Truly Coleman, Jerry Wayne Coleman; her brothers, Shelby Barksdale, Everette Barksdale; her sisters, Clydia Rosenbalm, Berniece Germany, Thelma Barksdale and Mary Lee.
Survivors are her sons, William Leslie "Billy" Coleman and Joel Stark "Starkey" Coleman; her daughters, Dorothy Gene Tuneburg, Judy Therese Edwards and Konnie Kay Speed; her sister, Iris Smith; her 16 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
