DIED.
SWENEY--At the family residence on Mill street at 4 o'clock Sunday morning Aug. 28, Mrs. J. A. Sweny aged 58 years, of typhoid fever.
Mrs. Sweney was born in Spencer county, Indiana, August 23, 1839. She was married to J. A. Sweney January 1, 1870 [sic]. She had five children once of whom survives here, Miss Lilly D. Sweney aged 20 years who is now prostrated by her mother's death.
Mrs. Sweney has been an invalid for twenty years past. Her death Sunday was a surprise being very sudden and probably the direct result of heart failure superinduced by the fever.
Mrs. Sweney has for some time been matron of the W. C. T. U. reading rooms but was removed to a more comfortable place when her condition became critical.
The funeral was conducted this afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Methodist Episopal church, Rev. John Parsons conducting the services. Interment was had at the Less Mission cemetery.

Mrs. J. A. Sweny, wife of Rev. J. A.[sic] Sweny, died at Salem, Monday morning. She was born in Spencer county, Indiana, August 23, 1839. She was married to Dr. Sweney in 1870. Mrs. Sweney had been an invalid for many years. The immediate cause of death was typhoid fever and heart failure.
