An angel mass was read at St. Joseph's church Monday morning for Joyce Winscher, six-months-old girl of Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Winscher, who died at St. Gabriel's hospital at 3:30 p.m., Friday, from burns she sustained at the home Thursday.
The Winscher family resides in Buckman township, east of Little Rock and the elders were frightened to the house from their chore work, by a bedroom fire. One of the children had tipped a kerosene lamp and ignited a bed close to the crib in which little Joyce was sleeping. The child was removed from its crib with burns on hands and legs, after also inhaling smoke and being exposed to heat.
The other two children were unharmed. Neighbors helped so fire would not spread to other parts of the house and the injured child was taken to St. Gabriel's hospital for treatment.
