Ella was the daughter of Hermann & Wilhelmina Borgwardt Heier. She married Walter Figahs about 1907 in Chicago. On September 23, 1914, she married Martin Yungerman in Wheaton, IL. By 1920, they were living in Walworth Co., WI, where they raised their family.
Ella had 3 children with Walter Figahs - Walter, Wilfred, who changed name to Art, and Clarence, who died about 2 months of age. Ella and Martin had 10 children - Bernice, Mildred, Martin, Gertrude, Pearl, Lorraine, Ernest, Esther, Helen, and Franklin.
