Former MH resident Thelma Deverman dies
Former Mountain Home resident Thelma "Sally" Deverman died July 24, 1990, at Lake Forest Hospital, in Illinois, according to a local friend. She was living in Libertyville, Ill., prior to her death.
She was born Jan. 2, 1906, and grew up in the Chicago suburbs. She married Walter Deverman in 1930 and lived in Palatine, Ill., for 30 years. They had one daughter, Diane.
She and her husband retired to Norfolk Village in 1971. After her husband's death in 1975, Mrs. Deverman remained in the area until 1981, when she returned to Illinois.
Mrs. Deverman was active in arts and crafts, and painted many still lifes and canvases. She studied art under Jean Cornetet and Eve Strauss.
