Daughter of Patrick and Elizabeth Murphy Cashen. Wife of Edgar Hale. Mother of Cecil, Ruth, Floyd, an infantson, and Orpha. She died of acute appendicitis, when Orpha was 10 days old.

Obit Catherine Hale
Mrs. E.E. Hale died at her home east of town, Wednesday, June 1, from acute appendicitis. She was born at Monticello, Iowa, on October 13, 1877, and was united in marriage to E.E. Hale, January 10, 1900, at McCook, Nebraska. To this union were born five children, three sons and two daughters, one having passed away in infancy. The husband, four children, mother, two sisters, four brothers and a host of friends are left to mourn her untimely death. The funeral services were held Friday from the Christian Church at Craig, conducted by the pastor, and interment made in the Craig cemetery. The Sun joins the many friends and neighbors in extending sympathy to the bereaved relatives.
Relatives in attendance at the funeral from away were: Mrs. Eliza Cashen, of North Loup, Nebraska, mother of the deceased; three brothers, Dan, John and Henry, the latter accompanied by his wife, all of McCook, Nebraska; a sister, Mrs. Elmer Groves, of Adams, Nebraska, and two brothers of the husband, H.H. Hale of Bancroft, and C.O. Hale, wife and daughter of Sprague, Nebraska.
