Anna Katharina is the daughter of John and Christine Alm. She was born in Kyrkbyn, Mo, Gävleborg, Sweden. She immigrated with her parents and maternal grandmother Catharina Larsdotter in May 1880. At first, they lived in Saline County, Kansas. In 1882 they were living in Topeka, Kansas where Elizabeth was born. By 1885 the Alm family and Grandma Katherine Larson are in Minneapolis. Census Records and Minneapolis City Directories tell us that her family lived in various houses in Minneapolis including 179 Lower Flats and 25 Cooper that are the locations of her father, sisters, and brother's deaths. She had a brother Oscar Alm and a sister Elizabeth Alm Noreen Johnson who lived to be adults. Before she married Anna worked as a domestic, a laundress, and as a box maker for Fisher Paper Box Company in Minneapolis. According to the 1900 Federal Census she and Frank lived across the street from each other on Cooper. Her husband's last name can be spelled Henrikson, Henrickson, Hendrickson, or in Swedish Henriksson, as Frank's grandfather was the son of Henrik. Her records at the cemetery are spelled Henrickson. Anna and Frank had 6 children, three of whom died as infants. The family story is that she died just before midnight as the bells were tolling in 1916.
