a L. Baker, age 78, of New Lebanon, OH, went home to be with the Lord on Monday morning, June 16, 2008. Born December 29, 1929 in Benhams, VA to the late Everett & Elizabeth (Gardner) Baker. A member of the New Lebanon First Baptist Church, Mr. Baker enjoyed hunting and fishing. He served with the US Army in the Korean War and retired in 1992 after 27 years from GMs Truck & Bus Plant in Moraine. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by wife Thelma Jean (Couch) Baker in 1992: 1 grandchild and a brother Roy.
Survived by daughters & sons-in-law Vicki & Robert Lemaster of Louisville, KY; Tracie & Gary Guess of Danville, IN; and Tina & Robert Diebel of Maineville, OH: 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandsons: sisters Edith Baker of Bristol, TN and June McMurray of Hiltons, VA.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, June 21, 2008 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria. Friends may call on the family from 10:00 - 11:00 AM Saturday at the Funeral Home. Interment Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Brookville.
