Jimmy had 6 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren.

Jimmy retired from the Department of Agriculture Tech with 33 years service, he was a US Army Veteran serving in WWII and was awarded 4 Bronze Stars. He was a charter member for the Doddridge County Emergency Squad, a member of the Doddridge County Lions Club, VFW and American Legion Post, He enjoyed Farming,Hunting and spending time with his Family.

WEST UNION — James A. "Jimmy" Hoskinson, 85, of Big Flint community, Salem, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2008, at his residence.

He was born November 16, 1922, in Morgansville, WV, a son of the late Roy C. and Goldie Faye Gain Hoskinson.

On December 20, 1947, he married Burnetta C. Ford Hoskinson, who survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Linda Jones, Salem; three sons, Kenneth D. Hoskinson, David A. Hoskinson and wife Vicki of West Union, and Ronald L. Hoskinson and wife Beverly, Salem; six grandchildren, Pamela Nicole, David Lee, Ryan Neil, Christina and Nathaniel Hoskinson, and Jessica Lea Jones; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Robert Hoskinson, McConnellsville, OH, Earl Hoskinson, Salem, and Billy Hoskinson, Clarksburg, and several nieces and nephews.

Three brothers, Kenneth, Guyle and Lawrence Hoskinson, preceded him in death.

Mr. Hoskinson was retired from the Department of Agriculture as a soil conservation tech with 33 years' service. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in World War II, and was awarded four Bronze Stars. Jimmy was a charter member of the Doddridge County Emergency Squad, a member of the Doddridge County Lions Club and VFW Post 3408 and American Legion Post 25. He enjoyed farming, hunting and spending time with his family.

Friends may call on Friday, April 4, 2008, in the Spurgeon Funeral Home, 212 Front St., West Union, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., where funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 5, at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Ken Kelley officiating. Interment will follow in the Keys Cemetery, Big Flint, where combined Doddridge County veterans groups will accord full military graveside honors.
