A funeral mass for David Joseph Flores, Sr., 83, of Shreveport, LA, will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 14, 2002 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Celebrating the mass will be Msgr. Carson Lacaze, pastor. Burial will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Centuries Funeral Home with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel.

Mr. Flores was born in Robeline, LA and had resided in Shreveport since 1952. He passed away at Life Care Hospital Monday, June 10, 2002 after a lengthy illness. Mr. Flores was a retired carpenter, a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, a member of American Legion Post #14, a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, and an eucharistic minister and member of the Holy Rosary Men's Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, a sister and a granddaughter.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Lucille Solice Flores; two sons, David J. Flores, Jr. and wife Pattie and Michael W. Flores and wife Blenda, both of Shreveport; two sisters, Mollie Solice of TX and Katie Grace of AL; four brothers, Lee and Sammy Flores of Denham Springs, LA and Reed and Jacob Flores of Robeline, LA; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be members of the Knights of Columbus.
