Enoch's parent's has never been proven, but is thought to be the son of Isaac that died abt 1817 in Marion Co MS & Mary.
Isaac was the son of Thomas & Ann Sumrall.

Obit:
"Mr. Sumrall, an old and respected citizen of Jackson County, died Sunday last at his residence near Vancleave, aged about 80 years.
He leaves a widow and several children and a host of relatives and friends to mourn his death."
~~~~~~~~
Enoch & Celia lived at Brewton/Brewer's Bluff, on the Pascagoula River, a small community a few miles north of Vancleave that no longer exists. At that time however it was a thriving turpentine and sawmill community, Jackson County's second courthouse site from about 1819 thru 1826, the jail was located in the ground, there was a post office, and an old hotel.
"Dwyer's Ferry, Holdens Ferry now known as Graham's Ferry" on the Pascagoula River, where Enoch made his living as a 'ferryman'.
Enoch was born in Georgia 1812; found in the census's 1840-41 Marion Co MS; 1850 Marion Co MS; 1860 Pass Christian Harrison Co MS; 1870 Enon Perry Co MS and 1880 Vancleave Jackson Co MS.
Some trees list Enoch & Celia marriage place as Mobile, AL, I tend to believe this is an error.
I've found the Sumrall families in Wayne Co., Perry Co MS, and west in Marion Co MS, and Harrison Co. MS., as noted above.
-------
In my extensive research of this family, I've found only fourteen children. Other accounts list eighteen, for example, Frances Melissa, actually one person, others list them as two people.
