Dec 28th [Terrell] A. J. 'Uncle Andy' Ables, 83, of the Ables Springs community, died Sunday. Burial in Weaver Cemetery.

"Andrew ‘Andy' Jackson Ables died here Sunday. Burial in Weaver Cemetery Tuesday. He was born in Nacogdoches County, Texas April 13, 1852. He came to Kaufman County at age two years; the family locating at Ables Springs. He married Artie Sartain April 24, 1873 and six children were born. Three children, all grown and his wife, preceded him. He is survived by two sons, Guy and Glenn Ables, both of Terrell; one daughter, Mrs. R. E. LeMay, San Angelo, Texas; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; three brothers, A. H. Ables, J. W. Ables, Terrell and W. P. Ables of Ables Springs; one sister, Miss Maggie Ables, Terrell. He was a member of the Methodist Church."
