Dorothy was born February 2, 1931, in Hammond, Illinois, the daughter of Troy and Florence (Fulk) Patrick. She married Lawrence W. Gregory on July 17, 1955, in Hammond, Illinois. Surviving are her husband, Lawrence W. Gregory Jr. of Deland; daughters Gayle (Alan) Brokaw of Pittsfield, Ill., Sandra (Eric) Dawson of O'Fallon, Ill.; sons Gordon Gregory of Decatur, Ill., and Curtis Gregory of Deland, Ill.; and six grandchildren, Amy Brokaw, Gregory Brokaw, Patrick Brokaw, Paige Brokaw, Miranda Dawson, and Mitchell Dawson. Dorothy was preceded by her parents, three brothers, Loran Patrick, John Patrick, and Vernon Dean Patrick, and one daughter-in-law, Susan Gregory.
Dorothy loved her family and friends. She enjoyed working with farmers in the community for 33 years as the bookkeeper at Deland Farmers Coop Grain. She lived her faith out in her involvement with her church, Faith in Action, Home Extension, Deland Women's Club, and as board member of the Piatt County Nursing Home Foundation. Memorials may be given to Faith in Action or American Cancer Society.
