Death of Jacob W. Dailey
Jacob W. Dailey died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Geo. English at Erie, PA., September 12 at the age of 82. He was born in Sugar Grove, May 1, 1843. The greater part of his life was spent in Cattaraugus and Chautauqua counties. He was constable of the town of Hanover for many years and at the time of his death he was serving his third term as justice of the peace. Short services were held at Erie Monday and his body was brought here and his funeral held in the M. E. church, Tuesday. Rev. H. H. Blair of Erie officiated. Burial was in Hanover Center Cemetery.
He leaves two daughters, Mrs. George English of Erie and Mrs. William Whipple of Jamestown, two half sisters, Miss Helen Dailey of this village and Mrs. Dexter Cardot of Cassadaga and one half brother, G. C. Dailey of this place. Eight grand-children and 13 great grand children also survive.
