Age 63, born in Seymour, IN, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2008 surrounded by her family.
Suzie was loving and kind mother and great friend to all! She had received many awards including: Counselor of the Year 1980, National Distinguished Service Registry- Medical & Vocational Rehabilitation Award in 1987. She was in Who's Who in American Woman in 1988, Delaware Outstanding Young Woman, Delaware Jaycee's in 1979, Delaware Association for Retarded Citizens Award in1981. Susie was also on the Boards of Independent Living, the N.A.A.C.P., Affirmative Action Council State of Delaware, Delaware A.I.D.S. Committee, and Delaware Association for Retarded Citizens, and Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Committee for 4 yrs., D.A.P. Board Member and served on the Advisory Council for Elwym Institute.
She was preceded in death her husband William Fessenden in 2000. Susie is survived by her sister, Barbara Ann Pantoni; sons, Jeff and Eric States; daughter, Janie H, Esdale; and 7 grandchildren.
Friends may call on Monday, June 23, 2008 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm at the MCCRERY MEMORIAL CHAPEL, Kirkwood Highway and Duncan Road where a memorial service will follow at 12:30 pm. Burial will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
