"Pooh Bear" was given to my husband Jim Housworth, by the Hillsboro County Sheriff's Department, when they found out Jim had Cancer and had always wanted a Standard Poodle. Jim and "Pooh" had a special bond, but "Pooh" just tolerated me. He loved the cats and the horses tho'. It's as if "Pooh" knew he was especially for Jim. Jim passed away on Veteran's Day, 1992 and our neighbor was taking care of our animals while I was at the hospital with Jim during his final days. Gene thought he should let "Pooh" out of his pen to run and "Pooh" ran right in front of a car on the busy highway and was killed. The man who hit him put him in his car and rushed him to the Vet, but it was too late for "Pooh," so we brought him home and buried him on the farm that he loved so much. I know, Jim, "Pooh," "Lucky" and all our other beloved animals are waiting at the Rainbow Bridge for me so we can all cross together.
