Alice Rebecca Burkhart Brubaker Hoover

Mrs. Alice R. Hoover, of Duncansville R. D. 1, died at 4.10 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the Mercy hospital where she was admitted June 8, after an extended illness.

She was born at Sugar Run March 14,1884, a daughter of Thomas Gabrial and Mary (Miller)Burkhart, and was twice married. Her first husband, Sylvester Brubaker, died in 1907. Her second husband, Levi Hoover, died in 1952.

Surviving are these children: Homer Brubaker of Detroit, Mrs. Eva Merrits of North Carolina, Nelson of Duncansville, R. D., Mrs. Mae Tierney, Mrs. Beatrice Shultz and Jacob Hoover, all of Altoona, George Hoover, Mrs. Olive Beard, Dean Hoover, and Brice Hoover, all of Duncansville, R. D., Mrs. Grace Snyder of Ohio, and Catherine Hoover of California; 27 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Hoover was a member of the Carson Valley Church of the Brethren.

Friends will be received at the Liebegott funeral home, Duncansville from 8 o'clock this evening until 11 o'clock Saturday morning and thereafter at the church.
