In 1834, Samuel Leonard Sr, followed his son to Canton from Gill Mass, and made his home with his son on the St. Lawrence county farm. Since Samuel Sr was born in 1740, he made this arduous journey when he was 94 years old! Here, Samuel Sr died in April 1841, aged 100 years and five months.
