Walter Lee Chilcote Sr., 88, Walker Township, Huntingdon R. D. 4, died at 6:10 p.m. yesterday, Sunday, March 29, 1987 at J. C. Blair Memorial Hospital. He had been a patient there since Feb. 26. He was born on Sept. 19, 1898 in Calvin, the son of Daniel and Rachael (David) Chilcote. He was united in marriage to Agnes Edna Kuhn on Feb. 4, 1918 at the First Methodist Church in Huntingdon. His wife preceded him in death on Oct. 30, 1984. Mr. Chilcote is survived by one daughter, Miss Rosalind M. Chilcote, Huntingdon, R. D. 4, and two sons: Walter L. Jr., Huntingdon, R. D. 4, and Robert G., James Creek. He also leaves 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. He is survived also by two sisters: Mrs. Edward (Vera) Clark, Hesston; and Mrs. Frank (Arlene) Catanese, Huntingdon. Two daughters preceded him in death: Mrs. Horace (Betty) Biemesderfer and Mrs. Osel (Dorothy) Rinker. He was also preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. Mr. Chilcote was a member of the Kingdom Hall Congregation of Jehovah's witnesses, Huntingdon. A painter and paperhanger by profession, he retired in 1961. He had spent most of his life in Huntingdon. He was a member of the P.O.S. of A., Altoona Lodge. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 1, from the John B. Brown Funeral Home, Huntingdon, Brother Silfred DeLuna officiating. Interment will be made in the Old Stone Church Cemetery, Penn Township. Friends may call after 7 p.m. tomorrow and on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service.
