Minden, La., Feb. 19. – The remains of Colonel C. H. Ardis, formerly a resident of this place, but for many years past a prominent and worthy citizen of Shreveport, were laid to rest in the Minden Cemetery at 4 o'clock this afternoon. A special train bearing a large party of relatives and friends of the deceased arrived here at 3:30 p.m. from Shreveport. A large concourse of people had gathered at the station to meet the special and immediately after its arrival the procession was formed and marched to the nearby cemetery. The ceremonies at the grave were simple, consisting of a prayer by Rev. A. L. Johnson, of this place, followed by a few fitly chosen words from Dr. W. S. Penick, of Shreveport.
