HAZEL GREEN, Wis. -- Richard C. "Dick" Hillary, 71, of Orange, Calif., formerly of Hazel Green, died May 19, 2008, in Orange.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 28, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Hazel Green, with the Rev. Cy Weisensel officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. The Haudenshield Funeral Home, Cuba City, is in charge of arrangements.
He was born on Oct. 22, 1936, in Hazel Green, son of Delbert and Loretta (Huske) Hillary. He graduated from Hazel Green High School and later from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.
He lived in Wisconsin for several years before moving to California.
He owned and operated many businesses.
Dick always had a warm smile and words of encouragement for those around him. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Surviving are his wife, Helga, of Orange; two daughters, Kathy (Steve) Schuren, of Danville, Ill., and Sara Rau, of Sunny Side, N.Y.; a son, Jim (fiancee, Gwen Novell) Hillary, of Tyler, Texas; four brothers, Bert (Betty) Hillary, of Dubuque, and Wayne (Leona) Hillary, Paul (Charlotte) Hillary and Pat (Irene) Hillary, all of Hazel Green; two grandchildren in Tyler; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers.
