Annie LaRue Brandenburg was born in Lisbon, Howard County, Maryland in 1893. She spent her working years in Richmond, Virginia where she was a teacher. After retirement LaRue came back to Lisbon to live. LaRue helped with the Slagle family genealogy, telling the story of the family moved from Frederick County to Howard County, Maryland.
Obituary - (The Frederick Post, May 8, 1967) "Miss A. L. Brandenburg, 73, a life-long resident of Lisbon, died at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was born in Maryland, a daughter of Jesse and Minnie Brandenburg. She taught high school in Richmond, Va., before her retirement. She is survived by three nieces and one nephew. Friends may call at the Waltz Fineral Home in Winfield today and Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Lisbon Methodist Church. The Rev, Orin Dooley, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in McKendree Cemetery near Cooksville. The family requested that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society."
